Achieva Credit Union story began in 1937 when seven teachers in Pinellas County got denied a loan from bank. The teachers then came together to form a financial institution of their own, a credit union with only $99.25 and an office at St. Petersburg Junior College.
Achieva credit union is a not-for-profit credit union owned by the members they serve. Thus is 1950 the institution was appropriately named the Pinellas County Teachers Credit Union.
Later, membership grew far beyond the teachers circle, to accommodate members from all walks of life. Currently, the credit union offers a full suite of services, including mortgages, credit cards, auto loans, financial planning as well as business and lending solutions.
Now, Achieva serves more than 160,000 members with 26 branches throughout 15 countries in west-central Florida.
