Canvas Credit Union was birthed in 1938 by a group of forward-thinking employees from the Public Service Company of Colorado, now excel energy. This group of 8, banded together and filed a charter with the state as Public Service Employees Credit Union with the minimum deposit being $5 per member and initial deposits were kept in an old shoebox.
In 1994, in order to break down the perceived barrier of membership, Public Service Employees Credit Union had it’s first name change, and was renamed Public Service Credit Union.
From 2005-2014 PSCU grew a lot over the years by joining forces with local credit unions. This resulted in its merging with 5 local credit unions: Veterans Administration Hospital FCU, DU Community CU, Nortardo CU, Brighton Cooperative FCU and Provenant Federal Credit Union,.Inorder to better accommodate it’s growing credit union family Public Service Credit Union relocated it’s home office to Lone Tree in 2014.
Fast forward to 2018, where Public Service Credit Union became Canvas Credit Union in a bid to express it’s warmth, it’s quirks and it’s personal dedication of standing shoulder to shoulder with each of it’s members.
Currently, Canvas Credit Union has grown from an eight man credit union to one of the leading financial institutions in the state.

Canvas Credit Union offers two membership plans. They are the “Personal Membership” and “Business Membership”.

Must be related to a current member of Canvas Credit Union.
Employed by or affiliated with a Canvas Credit Union Partner Company or Select Employee Group.
